Hockey Teams From Near And Far Attend 40th Squirt International Tournament

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — The 40th annual Squirt International Hockey Tournament brought in teams from across the country this weekend.

West Fargo Sports Arena hosted teams from the region and far away as the west coast and Canada.

The event itself ranges from early December through late February with different age groups participating each weekend.

This weekend was the Squirt B1 age group featuring players who are 9-10 years old.

Parents share their excitement for being able to watch their kids play in such a unique event.

“I think it’s so cool. We played a team from Ontario yesterday. It’s cool that they get to go home and say, go home to school the next day and say we played a team from Canada, and teams from California, and Las Vegas, and that’s awesome it’s a great opportunity,” said Sarah Foggia of from New Hope, Minnesota.

The event wraps up next weekend February 22-25.
