North Dakota State Hockey Tournament Semifinals Highlights and Scores
TWO TEAMS REMAIN IN THE NORTH DAKOTA BOYS AND GIRLS STATE HOCKEY TOURNAMENTS.
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR)–The North Dakota High School State Hockey Champions will be crowned Saturday. Four teams entered Friday still standing in each bracket and two teams now remain heading into Saturday’s Championships.
In the girls tournament, 8-seed Bismarck Century continued their cinderella tournament run upsetting 4-seed Grand Forks Central/Red River Knight Riders 4-1 in the Noon game.
Next, 2-seed Fargo North/South Spruins defeated 3-seed Mandan 2-0 to advance.
The Championship game will be 8) Bismarck Century vs. 2) Fargo North/South. Puck drop set for 4:30 P.M. Saturday, February 24.
In the boys tournament, Grand Forks Red River defeated Fargo South-Shanley 5-3 in a rematch of last years State Title game. In the other semifinal, Grand Forks Central defeated Minot 5-0 to advance.
The Championship will be an all Grand Forks matchup: E2) Grand Forks Red River vs. E1) Grand Forks Central. Puck drop will be 30 minutes after the conclusion of the girls game.
It will be a rematch of the EDC championship game that was won by Grand Forks Central 2-1 on February 17.
