Man Arrested And Charged With November Murder of his Niece in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, Minn. (KVRR) — An arrest is made in a stabbing death in Alexandria, Minnesota last November.

Police arrested 78-year-old Angel Rua-Torres in Alexandria at the home where the crime took place.

The Douglas County Attorney’s Office has charged Rua-Torres with the murder of 58-year-old Desiree Frederick, his niece.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rua-Torres told police he saw a man running out of the trailer and leaving in a convertible.

Surveillance video near the scene proved that was a lie.

The case has been under investigation by Alexandria Police, Minnesota BCA with assistance from the North Dakota BCI.
