Golden Drive Homeless Kids shop for over $25,000 worth of food to help those in need
WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Despite the winter storm, Golden Drive Homeless Kids shopped for over $25,000 worth of food to distribute in the community. These items were being gathered at West Fargo Rural Fire Department to help those in need.
Golden Drive says a lot of this came from the efforts of the community during Giving Hearts Day. Even though they didn’t have their volunteers to help get the food sorted out because of the storm, to them it’s about making sure kids don’t go hungry.
“We’ve always been about the product. It gets right to the person and it’s very impactful. It gives our homeless kids hope. Gives them hope that people care.” said Sue Baron, the founder of Golden Drive Homeless Kids.
Baron says the food will be sent out to schools and shelters hopefully by the end of the week.
