Director of Region’s Only Abortion Clinic To Be Guest at State of the Union

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — The director of Red River Women’s Clinic in Moorhead is headed to President Biden’s State of the Union Address.

Tammy Kromenaker will be Sen. Tina Smith’s guest at the address Thursday night.

She ran the only abortion clinic in North Dakota and was forced to relocate from Fargo to Moorhead in 2022 after the state banned abortion statewide.

Smith says Minnesota is now an island for abortion care in the Upper Midwest.

Kromenaker says patients should not have to fear being labeled a criminal when seeking medical care.
