Sen. John Hoeven Praises Governors Dayton, Burgum on FM Diversion Task Force
The recommendations of the task force will be forwarded to the FM Diversion Authority
FARGO, ND — Senator John Hoeven is praising the work of Governors Doug Burgum and Mark Dayton on the FM Diversion Task Force.
They recommended changes to the project to get the necessary permits from Minnesota for the work to continue.
The senator spoke with both the Commander of the Mississippi Valley Division of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers St. Paul District to ensure their support and assistance.
He is pushing to get additional funding for Army Corps Construction that is above the administration’s budget request.
“We have to keep working together and moving the project forward,” Sen. Hoeven said. “That’s why I contacted both General Kaiser and Colonel Calkins and said, ‘we need your maximum flexibility and help to keep the project moving, working together, get it done.'”
The recommendations of the task force will be forwarded to the FM Diversion Authority.
They have the option of using the information in a new Minnesota permit application.
