Man dead after garage fire near Detroit Lakes

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (KFGO/KVRR) – A man is dead after suffering injuries in a garage fire northwest of Detroit Lakes Tuesday afternoon.

The Becker County Sheriff’s Office says emergency crews arrived at the scene where the garage was fully engulfed in flames and several people had already pulled the man from the fire. He was flown to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis where he died.

The Detroit Lakes Fire Department, Essentia-St. Mary’s EMS, Life Link, Audubon Fire Department, and the Becker County Sheriff’s Office responded to the fire.
