MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) – The Moorhead American Legion and the group Vietnam Veterans of America is inviting everyone to come and honor those who served in the Vietnam era.

Vietnam Veterans Day is this Friday.
The Legion is hosting a community lunch on Friday from 11am to 2pm.
There will be a program from the Fargo Honor Guard’s Jason Hicks, along with memorabilia from veterans who served during the war.
Organizers say a lot of people still don’t know about the sacrifice service members made in Vietnam.
Many never returned home, and many who did make it back still suffer from things like agent orange exposure.
They hope days like this will help keep their stories alive.

Larry Nicholson, the president of the local Vietnam Veterans of America chapter, says, “We want people to know what we went through, but also that we made a commitment to our country. If you asked most Vietnam vets, they’d do it again.”
