FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Share some food and some culture while learning about dozens of new Americans who have made an impact and started businesses here in the Metro.

Singer Emma Gaye gave us a sneak peek of her singing on the KVRR morning show. She’ll be performing at Thursday’s Fargo/Moorhead International Potluck.
You’ll also get to learn more about the Immigrant Development Center, which provides resources for new Americans who want to start their own businesses.
They’ve helped nearly three dozen new businesses start up in the last 17 years.
We are also in the month of Ramadan, the Muslim holiday where people fast during the day.
People can still eat after sundown, which means there will be a delicious spread of Somali pastries, rice and kebabs.

Fowzia Adde with the Immigrant Development Center explains, “It sheds light on and breaks the ice, and kind of introduces the new Americans to the community. It’s a meet-and-greet idea and sharing food always is the best way to meet.”

The potluck is from 6:00-9:00 Thursday night at The Indigenous Association in Downtown Fargo. Click here for more details.
