Update: Three in custody after stolen vehicle crash, police search in south Fargo

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR UPDATE 4:30PM) — Three people are arrested after crashing a stolen pickup into a fence near I-94 in Fargo.

31-year-old Kyle Maez-Schaak and 23-year-old Kiarra Lovejoy of Bismarck along with 18-year-old Landrue Azure of Sheyenne were arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, stolen firearm, possession of meth, criminal trespass and refusal to halt.

Schaak is also accused of fleeing a peace officer in a vehicle and criminal mischief.

They fled from the crash near the intersection of 15th Street and 20th Avenue South on a frontage road that runs parallel to the interstate.

Police used a K-9 unit to track them down in the 19-hundred-block of 16th Street South.

Lewis and Clark Elementary was in lockdown as a precaution while they looked for the suspects.

One neighbor says his wife heard the crash and then the area was flooded with cops.

“I was a little bit surprised. Our neighborhood is usually a little quieter than this. You never know what’s going to happen,” said Justin Nygaard.

Police say this continues to be an ongoing investigation.

FARGO (KVRR) – Two people are in custody after Fargo police received a report of a stolen vehicle that crashed into a chain link fence along I-94 near the pedestrian bridge.

The stolen vehicle crashed near the intersection of 15th St. & 20th Ave. S.

“After the crash, the driver and passenger exited of the vehicle and fled on foot. FPD initiated a search in the area, utilizing K9 Uno in their efforts. Officers quickly located the two individuals in the 1900 block of 16th St. S. and detained them,” according to a police statement.

Nearby Lewis & Clark School was locked down as a precaution.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
