Former Fargo Public Schools Athletic Trainer Sentenced for Sexual Assault of Student

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — A former Fargo Public Schools teacher and athletic trainer contracted through Sanford Health has been sentenced to three years in prison for the sexual assault of a 15-year-old boy last summer.

Levi Tande changed his plea to guilty during a hearing in January.

The judge also gave him 5 years of supervised probation and he must register as a sex offender.

According to court documents, the boy was suffering from hip pain last June and went to the training room at South High School.

The boy accused Tande of touching him inappropriately and putting his hand up the boy’s shorts.

The boy took video with his phone.

Tande resigned from the district days later.
