Open House Planned for Input on Noise Issues In City of Fargo

Too Loud

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Fargo city leaders are looking into cracking down on loud vehicles and other amplified sound issues.

During last week’s city commission meeting, Commissioner Arlette Preston asked the police chief and city attorney to research what would be required to enforce the laws against illegally altered vehicles.

Preston says she has heard complaints from a number of people over the years about the noise coming from certain vehicles and motorcycles.

There have also been numerous noise complaints made in downtown Fargo.

An open house for public input will be held on Thursday, April 25, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the city commission chambers at Fargo City Hall.

There will be presentations by city staff, Fargo Police and City Attorney on proposed updates to the municipal code.

They invite everyone, including downtown commercial and residential property owners, tenants, and licensed food and beverage operators to provide input.

The feedback will be incorporated into the ordinance and shared with the City Commission for its consideration.
