LIVE: Sci-fi artistry shines at this year’s Plains Art Gala
May the fourth be with you this weekend at the Plains Art Museum
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – May the fourth be with you this weekend at the Plains Art Museum.
The museum is hosting its annual Plains Art Gala on Saturday, May 4th.
This year’s theme is Sci-Fi Artistry. It’s fitting the gala is on May 4th, a day associated with Star Wars.
That’s not the only Star Wars connection to the gala.
The theme was inspired by artwork at the museum from North Dakota native John Berkey. He designed some of the posters for the original Star Wars movie in 1977.
There will be sci-fi themed music, interactive adventures, and a light show, all to help promote art in the community.
Gala co-chair Maribeth Jornstaad says, “The Plains Art Museum is actually the only accredited museum in North Dakota, which is a pretty big deal. Funds raised by something like this help keep admission to the museum free, so you can go any day of the week and not have to pay a ticket charge. They’ve got tons of classes and things for kids and adults. They also support our emerging artists.”
Tickets are available now. Click here for more information.
