UPDATE: 5-Year-Old Has Serious Injuries, 5 Others Hurt, After Semi & SUV Collide Near Felton

FELTON, Minn. (KVRR) — A 5-year-old Crookston boy is in Sanford in Fargo with life threatening injuries after a crash between a semi hauling gravel and an SUV near Felton, Minnesota.

Minnesota State Patrol has identified the boy as Bo Hoppe.

The SUV driver, 41-year-old Tansy Hoppe, has non-life threatening injuries.

Four other passeners are at Sanford with non-life threatening injuries including 14-year-old Kai Hoppe, 12-year-old Elijah Hoppe, 8-year-old Ezra Hoppe, all of Crookston, along with 67-year-old April Rugland of Roseau.

The semi driver, 22-year-old Lucentio Lopez of Pharr, Texas was not hurt.

The SUV and semi collided at an intersection on Highway 9 around 10 a.m.

“Adults and children in the SUV, with some of those injuries in there ranging from I would say non-life threatening to serious injuries. Some were transported by ground, some were transported by air,” said Sgt. Jesse Grabow.

The crash remains under investigation.
