Fargo CoreCon celebrates sci-fi, anime, fantasy, horror and gaming
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The 14th annual Fargo CoreCon is being held this weekend at the Holiday Inn in Fargo.
The convention themed around sci-fi, fantasy, horror, anime and gaming featured attractions for all fans, from cosplay to Live-action Role-Playing.
It has been a long road for convention organizers who have seen their event grow since hosting the first Fargo CoreCon in 2009, when flooding almost canceled the convention.
“The week that we were supposed to have our convention, FEMA had all of the conference spaces, and checked out one day prior to when our convention started. We had a staff of less than a dozen people, and we still had over 125 attendees that year. And now the last several years after Covid we’re back up to over 1,000” CoreCon Earth Consul, Cassy Felton-Tufty said.
CoreCon is an all-ages event, and will be going on through Sunday.
