Semi hauling steel pipe starts on fire on I-29 north of Grand Forks

GRAND FORKS CO., N.D. (KVRR) — North Dakota Highway Patrol responded to a semi on fire on I-29 north of Grand Forks in Grand Forks County.
It was reported around 12:30 a.m..
The truck was hauling steel pipe and traveling southbound near mile marker 159 when the trailer caught fire for an unknown reason.
The driver safely pulled over and was able to disconnect the trailer before it became fully engulfed.
Manvel Fire Department responded and extinguished both the trailer and grass fire.
Southbound I-29 was closed for about 10 minutes during response efforts before reopening.
No injuries were reported.
This incident remains under investigation by the North Dakota State Patrol.
