Mind Virus bookstore looks to serve counterculture community in Fargo
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – A new bookstore is looking to grow the counterculture scene in downtown Fargo.
Mind Virus Counter-Culture Books and Media is a locally owned bookstore specializing in alternative literature and art.
They’re hoping to provide a space for local artists and writers to sell their zines and grow their audience.
Owner Isaac Kobrinsky says that he got the idea to open the store after his kids started to get into the music and arts scene in Fargo, and he saw how the counterculture had changed and grown
“It’s different than the one I grew up with, that was here back in the 90’s when I was coming up, playing music and stuff. And the younger crowd too, I was encouraged. I just never thought that Fargo was the kind of place that I would be able to have this sort of shop.”
Mind Virus is looking to bring in musicians, lecturers and a drag queen story hour in the near future.
