Turnberg, Strand Win Seats on Fargo City Commission

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Fargo City Commission is getting a new member.

In the primary election Tuesday, Michelle Turnberg won a seat by leading the pack of seven candidates with 6,850 votes.

Incumbent John Strand came in second with 6,579 votes to win another term.

Commissioner Arlette Preston, who also served as deputy mayor, came in fourth in the voting behind former former Republican House Majority Leader Al Carlson.

They were followed by Anna Johnson, Delson Saintal and Nathan Pullen.

Strand and Turnberg will join fellow commissioners Dave Piepkorn, Denice Kolpack and Mayor Tim Mahoney.

The city commission seats come with four year terms.
