Former Minnesota Student Wins $425,000 in Lawsuit Win Against School
A former Rogers High School student has won a $425,000 settlement after he was suspended over a tweet about a teacher.
19-year-old Reid Sagehorn sued the Elk River School District, the superintendent, Rogers Police Chief and others in June 2014, soon after he was suspended.
The settlement calls for the school district to pay Sagehorn $325,000 and the police department to pay $100,000.
Sagehorn says his tweet about making out with a 28-year-old teacher was meant to be sarcastic.
