FARGO — When it comes to a workout that engages your brain as much as your brawn, fencing gets right to the point.

And these young fencers are as sharp as the foils they handle.

Josie and Grace are with the FM Fencing Club learning all about fencing — the techniques, the strategies, and the complexities of what they describe as something between a sport and an art.

The highly technical demands of fencing can take years to learn and master, and we’ll see a lot of that mastery on display next month in Paris at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

The young fencers are fresh off a demonstration for audiences Thursday night at the downtown Fargo Night Bazaar.

Grace and her brother Carter gave the Morning Show an in-studio match for the cameras, with Josie helping out with some sideline reporting.
