Fargo Keeps Growing as More and More People Move to North Dakota

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — North Dakota’s state’s population reached a new all-time high of nearly 784,000 people last July and many new residents are making their home in Fargo.

The city is filled with fun events and new adventures, but for others it’s the start of something new.

People are turning to Facebook groups such as Fargo/Moorhead Community Page to learn more about the area.

It is estimated that Fargo is expected to increase to a population of 340,000 people by 2045.

It’s around 135,000 just in Fargo right now, with 258,000 in the FM Metro.

“Based on the people I’ve met with and the interactions I’ve had I would say it’s jobs primarily are what people would relocate for. We have a lot of really great things about North Dakota, I mean it’s a very safe state. Um, we go have a jobs a lot of other amenities as well but I would say jobs it probably a pretty big driving factor of why people would relocate,” said  Tifanie Gelinske with Fargo Moorhead Economic Development.

Within these groups many of the people are moving from places such as California.
