Man arrested near Mapleton, N.D. following chase that began in Minnesota

FARGO (KVRR) – A law enforcement pursuit that began in Minnesota ended near Mapleton, North Dakota Sunday night.

At around 9:40 p.m., the North Dakota Highway Patrol attempted to stop the driver of a stolen Audi on I-94 after being pursued by the Minnesota State Patrol.

The driver fled westbound at high speeds until being forced to stop in a field approximately 3 miles northwest of Mapleton.

The driver, Dustin Powell, was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, fleeing, aggravated reckless driving and DUI/refusal.

The incident remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
