Fargo set to roll out new water meters

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — People in Fargo are about to see some changes in their water bills.

The city is set to roll out new water meters.

The upgraded meters will start being installed in North Fargo next month.

Areas in central and southern Fargo will see changes in the next two years, with the upgrades set to be completed in 2026.

The meters will bring more accurate tracking for the city and also offer benefits to consumers.

Fargo Water Utility Director Troy Hall says, “Customers will be able to look at their water usage on their home computer or phone; they can look on apps. So you can see, you won’t just get an after the fact meter read from a past month, you’ll be able to see it almost instantaneously.”

He says there is no cost to the customer for this upgrade.
