Five-Year-Old Who Wandered Away From Campground In Casselton Returns One Hour Later

CASSELTON, N.D. (KVRR) — A scare for a family at the campground at Days Inn Hotel in Casselton last night.

They reported their five-year-old was missing around 8:45 p.m.

Cass County Sheriff’s Office mobilized a coordinated search effort including Red River Regional Drone Team, Casselton Fire, Ringdahl Ambulance, North Dakota Highway Patrol, a K9 track and community members.

An Everbridge notification was broadcast to the area.

About one hour after being reported missing, the child returned to the campground area and reunited with family.

The sheriff’s office continues to review the incident.
