FARGO (KVRR) – Police have taken a man into custody following an extensive search in a south Fargo neighborhood.

Fargo Police sources tell us it stemmed from a burglary and domestic violence incident.

Numerous Fargo officers, Cass County deputies, and a Moorhead police K-9 were searching the area around 44th Ave. S. to 47th Ave. S. and 47th St. S. to 51st St. S. in Fargo.

The K-9 alerted to a home on 44th Ave. S. and he was taken out in handcuffs after 2 p.m.

He was found hiding in a washing machine.

Police earlier said they were searching for a man who fled from officers on foot. His name was not released.

Police say the search was not related to the homicide last Friday in south Fargo.

They continue to search for the suspect in that case, 34-year-old Leo Dartoe of Fargo. He’s accused of shooting a friend, 35-year-old Sampson Bleh, in the chest at an apartment in the 2200 block of 12th Ave. S.
