MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — It’s not often a local university is handed a gift worth $20 million but that is the case at Concordia College in Moorhead.

An anonymous donor has gifted the money to the Offutt School of Business.

It’s the largest gift ever given to the department and one of the largest ever made to the college.

School leaders say the money will help enrich the educational experience for students, expand academic programs, and solidify the school’s position as a leader in business education.

“I want to say that this gift is more than just a financial contribution, it is a profound investment in the future education at Concordia College. It will open doors, it will create opportunities and significantly enhance the experience and impact we offer our students,” said Rev. Terry Brandt, Concordia College Vice President for Advancement.

A few things the funds will be used for include upgrades to teaching facilities and finance initiatives that support students such as the Cobbertunity Fund for students launching a business.
