Omaha scores late goal to force tie against NDSU soccer

OMAHA, NE (KVRR) – The North Dakota State University Bison soccer program held a lead throughout most of the night against the Omaha Mavericks to kick-off Summit League play. However, the Mavericks scored in the final seconds to force a tie against the Bison down in Nebraska.

Freshman Forward, Morgan Russman, continued to have an excellent start to her Bison career, as she found the back of the net nearly 12 minutes into the first half. Junior goalkeeper, Payton Mulberry, grabbed seven saves against Omaha. But after a foul was called with 32 seconds left in the second half, Alyssa Keller scored for the Mavs making it a 1-1 game.

The Bison (0-0-1) stay on the road this upcoming weekend when they take on the Kansas City Roos (0-1-0) in Kansas City, MO. That game is slated to start at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
