Early Voting Brings Thousands of Voters to The Polls

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Early Voting began Tuesday morning in Cass, Grand Forks and Stark Counties. With lines wrapped around the hallways at locations in fargo, people were ready to get their vote in.

Cass County reports that over 5,100 people voted between 11 am and 3 pm.

“Well right now we’ve had a line ever since we opened the door and it’s still line out in the hallway. But it’s manageable so we’re getting to do we got some extra people out here now and we got some extra equipment working. So everything is going great,” said David Demarais, Fargodome Inspector.

While turnouts for the polling locations have varied, voters have said that it is running smoothly.

“I talked to a lady who was in that long line you saw when you came in and I said how long did it take for your voting process. She said ten minutes. So if you can stand in a long line and be out in ten minutes that’s really really good,” said Cheryl Peterson, Cass County Courthouse Inspector.

Poll workers are also preparing for a busy election day on November 5th and want to make sure that voters have a good experience.

“It’s fun to come vote, it’s a good patriotic duty and we try to make it as easy as possible for the voters,” said Peterson.

Voters are reminded to bring an ID to the polls. The Secretary of State’s office says valid forms of identification include a North Dakota Driver’s License, Tribal ID, Tribal Letter, or Long-Term Care Certificate.
