Musicians build bonds in 48 hour band competition
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – It may come as a surprise, but 48 hours ago this band didn’t exist, and now they’re performing on stage at Fargo Brewing.
“Performing music is really cool, and every chance I can do it, I will do it.”
The 48 Hour Band Competition was put on by Jade Presents, and randomly paired up local musicians on Thursday in new bands that would make their debut on Saturday.
“They had 48 hours to put together 10 minutes of music and come up with a band name, and now they get to perform for two judges, and the people will vote for people’s choice.”
For the musicians, it was a chance to network and build connections with some talented people.
“There’s a little bit of nerves probably for everyone, but at the end of the day it’s super fun. It reminds you of why you wanted to be a musician in the first place.”
And to discover some connections that they already had.
“I believe Nashat is friends with Keaton, and I’m actually friends with Keaton’s dad, so I don’t think there’s a generational barrier.”
“And Chris is actually the coolest dude ever. Chris, Josh, Connor, Max, everybody is so awesome. I’m just so excited to be here, excited to cook you know.”
And they say they hope that the relationships that they’ve built during these 48 hours will last into the future.
“I think I’ve met some people I could really see being my friends, just cooking, having fun with. I really hope that we continue.”
