Northern Minnesota man struck by minivan while walking on highway

WALKER, Minn. (KVRR-KFGO) – A 27-year-old man from Walker was hurt when he was struck by a minivan south of Walker Monday night.

The State Patrol says the man was under the influence of alcohol and walking in a traffic lane of Highway 371 at Shingobee Road when the minivan sideswiped him. It happened shortly before midnight.

The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Sanford Hospital in Bemidji.

The 54-year-old Park Rapids woman driving the minivan was not hurt.
