Police Still Searching for Moorhead Home Invasion Suspect

Police are still looking for a fleeing suspect after a Moorhead home invasion.

Officials say the suspect kicked and broke the glass door of an apartment at 915 32nd Avenue South in Moorhead at 2 this morning.

Neighbors checking on the noise scared the person away.

Police chased the suspect in a dark-colored Jeep on I-94 before the individual exited at University Drive.

Fargo Police found the abandoned vehicle in a driveway on 1400 block of 8th Street South.

Officers used a K-9 to track the suspect but were unsuccessful.

“It’s concerning but we’re on guard but we’re not afraid. We have a good police presence here. We feel comfortable from that standpoint. We see the squad cars driving around quite frequently actually and that gives you a piece of mind,” says Ron Skarperud of Fargo.

“In many cases as we’re well aware, burglars will often try to be more quiet and sneak whereas in this case they were clearly making their presence know,” says Lt. Tory Jacobson of Moorhead Police.

Moorhead Police says they do not have a description of the suspect.

As of now, they do believe there is only one individual involved in this ongoing investigation.
