LIVE: Holiday travel at Hector International Airport

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – It’s the busiest travel day of the year, as people travel across the country for the Thanksgiving holiday.

And it’s no different at Hector International Airport in Fargo, where they see an uptick in passengers throughout the week before and after the holiday.

While they rarely see delays at T.S.A. or inside the airport, our weather can always play a factor and it may take a little bit longer for your flight to take off.

The construction of the new parking garage at the airport can also lead to some delays for pick-ups and drop-offs, which is why they say the most important thing to pack is patience.

“Pack a bag of patience. Be very patient, but get to the airport early. Every airline has a recommended time to be at the airport if you’re traveling domestically or international, but get there early. Make sure that you have the airline app downloaded to your phone so that your boarding pass is readily available.”

Dobberstein says that they expect the convenience to improve once the parking garage project is completed.
