Fargo Public Schools Asks for Community Input

The five-minute survey closes on December 5.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Officials with Fargo Public Schools are looking for community feedback regarding a potential massive bond referendum.

The cost of the proposed bond would be $350 million to pay for improvements outlined in a long-range facilities plan.

That plan was developed over the course of the 2023-24 school year and was approved by the school board back in June.

It focuses on improving and modernizing school facilities – which the district says is sorely needed.

“We really evaluated the whole portfolio, and what we found is we have about $200 million in deferred maintenance needs,” said James Hand, the Director of Facilities for FPS.

“So in condition items alone, we’ve got a pretty big hurdle, and that only grows over the next 15 years.”

The survey is open until December 5 and the district encourages any potential voter to take it so they can utilize that feedback.
