Moorhead is taking applications for its new police chief

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — The City of Moorhead is taking applications to fill the position of the new police chief.
Current Police Chief Shannon Monroe is retiring after over 30 years with the department. He made his announcement in September.
The city has a population of nearly 45,000 residents.
The city says the department is on the cutting edge of law enforcement practices, utilizes advanced technology, and values partnerships to help achieve its mission.
