FARGO, N.D. – The holiday season is all about giving.

So Fargo’s public transportation network is making sure they do their part.

MATBUS announced they are bringing back their “Season of Giving” program for its second year.

The system is simple – bring a non-perishable food item for donation, ride MATBUS free on Saturdays in the month of December.

The transit system says after the success of the first go-round, it was only natural they’d keep trying to give back.

“Every decision that we make is trying to think what we can do best to serve our public and our cities,” said Taaren Haak, the Assistant Transit Planner & Marketing Specialist for MATBUS.

“We really like doing events like this where we can give back even more and become even more involved in helping those in the community.”

Last year, the Season of Giving program collected over 500 pounds of food for the Emergency Food Pantry.

They’re hoping to surpass that amount with this iteration.
