FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — The Salvation Army teamed up with workers from American Crystal Sugar to assemble annual Christmas food boxes.

Volunteers worked through the early hours of the morning to set up the line of food.

There were mashed potatoes, corn, frosting, cake mix, bread, ham and turkey – you name it, it was there, and the assembly line was consistently moving.

This led to the assembly of over 900 food boxes in the span of a just a few hours –

meaning many will be now able to have a true Christmas dinner.

“We also like to work throughout the year to help them refinance their finances and hopefully put them in a better position. As this inflation fluctuates a little bit right now we’ll see what happens over this next year. Our goal is to always help people find independence and sufficiency. So that’s what we’re hoping to do,” said Major Abe Tamayo, Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army reiterates that their mission of giving back extends well through the holiday season –
so if you feel like giving back, please do not hesitate to volunteer.
