Rural Horace Family of Four Treated for Carbon Monoxide Exposure

CASS CO., N.D. (KVRR) — A Christmas Eve scare as a family of four from rural Horace is rushed to the hospital to be treated for carbon monoxide exposure.
First responders arrived at their home around 10:30 this morning after a family member reported feeling ill.
One of the juveniles in the home was in and out of consciousness.
It was determined that both parents and two kids were exhibiting symptoms consistent with carbon monoxide exposure.
Extremely high levels of carbon monoxide were found near the fireplace.
Cass County Sheriff’s Office says the family members are recovering.
They also remind everyone to check their ventilation and to install carbon monoxide detectors.
