Wrigley: Fatal police-involved shooting in Fargo was justified

Greco Shooting Press Conference 2

FARGO (KVRR) – North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley says November’s fatal police-involved shooting in Fargo was “reasonable, justified and lawful in every way.”

Wrigley announced the findings of his department’s investigation during a news conference Wednesday in Fargo.

65-year-old Peter Greco was shot and killed outside a home in the Deer Creek neighborhood. Greco was having mental health issues and came out of the home with a handgun.

Sgt. Lucas Mock and Officer Princeten Harris both fired their weapons and Greco died at the scene.

They have been on administrative leave since the shooting.

Fargo Police Chief Dave Zibolski says officers “did everything possible to de-escalate the situation without the use of deadly force.”

Zibolski says that while he regrets the outcome of the incident, he’s proud of the officers’ actions.
