Cass County Sheriff Forms ‘Sheriff’s Quick Response Team’ to Respond to High Risk Situations

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Cass County Sheriff’s Office has assigned ten deputies to a new team called the Sheriff’s Quick Response Team.

The deputies will receive additional training once a month to prepare to respond to active shooters, barricaded subjects, mass casualties, and other high-risk situations.

Deputies will remain in their current roles during their shifts and will respond to incidents when called upon.

They will also receive additional safety equipment to keep with them on patrol in order to have an immediate response.

“We sometimes don’t have the luxury to wait for two hours to get the right resources in play. Sometimes these situations are dynamic. They’re rapidly evolving and we need to get officers on scene right away. We certainly want our rural residents to have access to a fast response and a thorough response just like they would in the city of Fargo or West Fargo,” said Jesse Jahner, Cass County Sheriff.

Jahner hopes to have the team up and running by summer.
