Saved by the Seatbelt: Nashville Dreamers, Hazen Sisters Share Life Saving Message
Two North Dakota sisters with the goal of conquering Nashville say they’re able to still follow their dreams thanks to a seat belt.
Krista and Kendra Slaubaugh from Hazen make up the band Tigrilily.
They’ve been playing music together for years.
But that all could have ended last December, when Krista was in a serious rollover accident.
The car was smashed.
Fortunately, she was not seriously injured, she says because she was wearing a seat belt.
The sisters are sharing that message, along with a few songs, to students across the state.
“This event was kind of a tragic experience for me,” Krista says, “so I really wanted to turn this tragic experience into campaign so that people will think about buckling up, you know?”
The shows are helping kick off the North Dakota Department of Transportation’s Click It or Ticket campaign, which runs from May 23rd through June 5th.
