Sen. Franken and the Battle Over Hotdish

It looks like Minnesota lawmakers know how to cook.

Congressional members came together for Senator Al Franken’s 6th annual hot dish competition.

Representative Tim Walz’s Turkey Taco Tot Hotdish took first place.

The event lets lawmakers take a break from the partisanship to celebrate a Minnesota tradition.

“This is the third year he’s won out of six years so we’re going to have to do something different but congratulations to Tim of course and it was a lot of fun everybody had a great time,” says Sen. Al Franken.

Franken contributed his favorite, tater tot hotdish.

The dishes were judged on taste, originality and presentation.
