LIVE: Local Film to Premier at Fargo Film Festival

The Fargo Film Festival is in full swing, and today featured the premier of a new short film from a local artist.

“In The Trees” is Craig Roath’s first foray behind the camera, but he has been a staple of the local film scene for years, acting in projects for many filmmakers and students in the community.

Roath says the film was inspired by his less than stellar performances on the golf course, and that he was thrilled to get to finally see it on the big screen.

He added that there are a lot of talented people in the community, and that if you want to make films in Fargo, the most important thing is to get started.

“If you need help with actors, or behind the camera, or editing, people are there to help. If you have an idea and you think it’s worthwhile, give it a shot. It takes some time, it takes some work, but it’s a lot of fun.”

There’s still more on offer from the festival for it’s 25th anniversary, including a showing of “The Breakfast Club” with actress Molly Ringwold. You can find more info on tickets here.
