Shelves Are Running Low on Supplies At Dorothy Day Food Pantry

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — Dorothy Day Food Pantry in Moorhead is on a mission to get more food items onto the shelves.

As inflation has risen supplies are running low.

In the last year, the need for food and perishable items has grown bringing the daily number to over 100 people served.

Items throughout the pantry are being pushed to the top of the shelves for families to grab.

The most needed items are eggs, fruits, vegetables, milk, and meat.

“Over this past eight to ten months the community has been so generous and reaching out to support Churches United. I would like to thank the community and just remind them that the need still is there. It’s not just our food pantry, it’s every food pantry across the network here,” said Pastor Devlyn Brooks, Churches United.

Families are still able to receive food perishables, but Brooks says that the number of items may change if the pantry is not able to fulfill the needs.
