Stay Inn Bathroom Fan Fire Triggers Large Fire Department Response in Grand Forks

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) — Grand Forks Fire Department responds to a small fire at Stay Inn.

The call came in around 5 a.m. at 1000 42nd Street North for a general fire alarm.

Crews arrived to find smoke and upgraded the call to a full alarm.

They found the smoke coming from a bathroom fan in an unoccupied room at the inn.

The fire was quickly put out and damage was contained to the one unit.

The cause was determined to be accidental due to the malfunctioning bathroom fan.

No injuries were reported.

Five engines, one truck and a command vehicle with 17 personnel responded to the call.
