Hotels Offer Holiday Gifts For Family Visiting Sick Loved Ones

Most people would enjoy getting anything for free, and that’s how local hotels are trying to help families over the holidays.

Fargo hotels are helping loved ones find a place to stay over the holiday season. For some family and friends the perfect Christmas gift is just visiting loved ones in the hospitals, nursing homes or treatment centers. That’s why Fargo hotels are hoping to lift people’s spirits and make it easier for guests to feel at home away from home over the holidays.

The holidays are a time for the gift of families and friendships. And while some families are taking off for the holidays, area hotels are opening their doors at no charge.

“The holidays are a stressful time, and expensive time so if we can just take one night of burden off of a guest it helps us,” said Residence Inn General Manager Laura Ludwig.  

TMI Hospitality’s “Room in the Inn” program is offering free rooms on Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. Several Fargo hotels are offering the program, including the Comfort Suites, Fairfield Inn & Suites, and Residence Inn.

“Who doesn’t want to get something for free, and it’s just the right thing to do?” said TMI Hospitality Corporate Communications Director Nicole Ellis.

Employees say the program is allowing them to warm hearts and bring Holiday cheer to the community.

“We all know that the holidays are a stressful time to begin with, and then imagining if you have somebody who’s in the hospital that you’re visiting, you know, the stress levels just go off the chart so if this is the one thing that we can do to maybe ease people’s minds a little bit that’s what we’re here to do,” Ellis said. 

While employees stay busy preparing for guests, family and friends traveling to the area will be able to rest their heads just a little more comfortably this holiday season.

“They are very gracious, very thankful that this is available to them,” Ludwig said.
