FARGO, N.D. – It’s been a thrilling ride for those involved in the creation and execution of Parachigo, an artistic space on 8th Street South.

Getting it to where it is today required a monumental communal effort.

“Everything’s been made from the ground up by the people who occupy the space,” explaind Anj Karna, Executive Director.

“The stage was made by the bands, the studios were put together by the artists.”

To celebrate two years of existence, Parachigo held a day-long celebration, starting with Easter Egg dyeing, wrapping up with a late-night dance party, and featuring a free concert from Big Hank.

That feels appropriate, as Karna says the biggest impact they feel Parachigo has had over the past two years is in the local music scene.

“The bands in the F-M have flourished. There’s like 4 times more bands than we had like five years ago. And I think a huge part of that is just places for new people and people under 21 to play.”
