Moorhead woman arrested, accused of fleeing in a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property

MOORHEAD — A Moorhead woman was arrested after a vehicle chase on Thursday, May 1.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, witnesses alerted them and the Moorhead Police Department to multiple reports of a vehicle traveling the wrong way on the westbound lanes of Interstate 94.

The vehicle was described as a white Chevrolet pickup.

As officers searched for the vehicle, another report came in about a similar vehicle stolen from a home in the 1900 block of 28th Avenue South in Moorhead.

They found the pickup stopped in the 2000 block of Highway 336.

According to officers, the pickup fled as Sheriff Mark Empting and a Clay County trooper tried to contact the driver.

Empting says the pickup fled east through a ditch and into a grassy area before entering a nearby gravel pit.

The vehicle became stuck and the driver fled on foot.

Police say the driver was found hiding under a tarp and taken into custody.

The driver was identified as Timberly Devereaux, a 39-year-old female from Moorhead.

She is currently being held in the Clay County Correctional Center for Felony Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property, and Fleeing on Foot.
