Vergas, MN Teen Is Sentenced For Shooting and Killing Neighbors Dog

OTTER TAIL CO., Minn. (KVRR) — A Vergas, Minnesota man is sentenced to three days at Otter Tail County Detention Facility for shooting and killing his neighbor’s dog last July.

19-year-old Bodi Engebretson pleaded guilty to mistreating an animal.

Court documents reveal that Engebretson had to be in the backyard at a close range since the dog was found dead on a barricaded porch.

He claimed the dog was on his property when he grabbed his gun and shot it.

Investigators received tips including that his father was upset that he had killed the dog and should take accountability for it.
