Plea Deal Reached in Teen Hockey Players Sex Video Scandal

A plea agreement is reached in the case of two junior league hockey players charged with making a sex video with a 15-year-old girl.

Thomas Carey and Brandon Smith are accused of making the video in a Moorhead motel room.

Carey and Smith have agreed to plead guilty to a felony, but would receive a “stay of adjudication” and be sentenced to 45 days in jail.

They would not be required to register as sex offenders.

The plea hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.

The agreement must still be approved by a judge.
