Plains Art Museum Hosts Annual Indigenous Art Fair

Indigenous Art Fair

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — The Plains Art Museum and Visit Fargo Moorhead hosted their annual Indigenous Art Fair on Saturday.

The event invited forty Indigenous makers from the Midwest and across the nation.

From paintings, jewelry, blankets, dreamcatchers, and other indigenous crafts.

Each vendor showcased their home roots within each of their pieces with high-level contemporary and traditional Indigenous art.

“It’s just amazing to have artists like be able to have space here and not to have like, we provide tables and that kind of like gets that pressure off of them too. And these are their original homelands. And so it’s just important to like broadcast these artists here and like show the people that we’re still here,” said Delia Touche, Curator of Indigenous Programming and Deputy Director of Exhibitions.

The event continues tomorrow at the Plains Art Museum.
